DONATION OF DRY RATIONS & FACE MASKS

Covid-19 Relief Project in Collaboration with Region-3 on 13th December 2020

District 306 C1, Region 3, distributed 300 packs of dry rations, with 150 packs contributed by LCCL, to quarantined, daily wage-earning families in Colombo. Additionally, LCCL donated 1,000 face masks and 15 PPE kits to the DIG Colombo for use by police officers on duty in lockdown areas.

On December 13th, 2020, the Lions Club of Colombo LEADS (LCCL), in collaboration with Region-3, undertook a significant Covid-19 relief project. This project aimed to support quarantined, daily wage-earning families in Colombo by providing essential supplies. Various media representatives, army personnel, police officers, and government officials were present to witness and support the distribution process.

During the event, the Project Secretary, Lion K K N K Chinthaka from the Lions Club of Colombo LEADS, addressed the audience.

The Project Chairman of this initiative is Lion Heshan Padukka, the Region Chairperson of Region 3.

Dry Rations: 300 packs of dry rations were distributed, with 150 packs provided by LCCL. These packs were specifically targeted towards families in quarantine who rely on daily wages for their livelihood.

Face Masks and PPE Kits: LCCL donated 1,000 face masks and 15 PPE kits to the DIG Colombo. These supplies were intended for police officers on duty in lockdown areas to ensure their safety and the safety of the public they serve.

Families: 300 families at Kalipullawatta, Dematagoda, Sri Lanka, received the dry ration packs.

The Sri Lanka Army and the Police of Dematagoda undertook the delivery of the supplies to Kalipullawatta, Dematagoda, ensuring that the aid reached the intended beneficiaries effectively.
