FUN AT THE TRIP TO SINHARAJA
After successfully completing the project at Sinharaja Cave Monastery, we enjoyed some fun time on our way back to Colombo.
At Colombo LEADS, we never miss an opportunity to have some good fun as well. After organizing everything suitably at the monastery, offering the afternoon Daana, presenting the rations by our own hands to the sangha, engaging in religious observances, listening to the head monk’s sermon, and spending time conversing with the monks, our cheerful team made their way to a nearby waterfall to enjoy a refreshing bath and swim.
The beautiful natural waterfall was in a serene, untouched part of the forest. A side stream of the waterfall fell into a rocky pool of water, which the locals deemed safe for bathing and swimming. The clear water, sparkling in the evening sun, was so inviting we couldn’t wait to get in. There was a small hut set up on a rocky area surrounded by streamlets where we had arranged some tasty treats. There were authentic Sri Lankan wild boar curry and turkey curry in two large clay pots, washed down with fresh coconut “Raa.”
Sitting in the cool water of the rocky pool, eating wild boar with a toothpick off a paper plate, sipping coconut “Raa” from a coconut shell, surrounded by a wonderful team of friends and family, and reflecting on the grand and satisfactory cause we contributed to, felt truly amazing. It was undoubtedly one of the happiest and most satisfying moments in all our lives.
